Logo Design for St. Louis Area Software Developer
Posted by Justen Hong in Graphic Design/Print, Logo Design, Identity & Branding on May 8, 2012
Visual Lure recently wrapped up a logo design for RX for Print, a product created by a St. Louis area software developer. We were originally contracted to simply convert a typography based logo from Microsoft Word into vector artwork (and other electronic formats), but we ended up redesigning the entire logo. The software tracks company’s/organization’s printers in order to conserve on printing cost and to track waste. RX for Print really wanted to show that their software was “green”, so we came up with the logo design below. It features four droplets of ink that also create leaves. The droplets of ink of course represent printing and the leaves represent the “green” aspect of their software.

Logo Design for St. Louis Business/Life Coach
Posted by Justen Hong in Graphic Design/Print, Logo Design, Identity & Branding on March 13, 2012
Visual Lure was recently contracted to design a logo for St. Louis based business and life coach Rodney Mueller. Rodney uses his life experiences, including what he learned as an Army Drill Sergeant, to motivate and coach businesses and individuals. He wanted his logo to use chevrons (the inverted v-shaped military symbol used to indicate rank or length of service) to nod to his military background but in a subtle way. He also wanted the logo design to have a human element to make it more friendly and approachable. We solved these design requirements by combining two chevrons to create a person as seen below. Package Design for New USAF Academy Band CD
Posted by Justen Hong in Graphic Design/Print, Package Design on November 9, 2011
Visual Lure was recently contracted to design the packaging for a new USAF CD titled Sonata in Blue. It will feature the Rampart Winds of the United States Air Force Academy Band. The band provided the following direction: “We want to visually showcase the five individuals that make up the quintet. Not necessarily with their pictures, but with some other representation. The instruments used are flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and French horn. We would like to the cover to be recognizable as an Air Force product in some fashion…”
With this guidance, we came up with the concept of five F16s (representing the quintet) flying in formation with music (notes and symbols) coming out of the jet’s contrails (exhaust). Below is our initial proposed cover. Check back soon to see the finished product.

Custom Illustrated Christmas Card for St. Louis Area Engineering Firm
Posted by Justen Hong in Graphic Design/Print on November 9, 2011
TWM, a St. Louis area engineering firm, recently contracted Visual Lure to create custom illustrated Christmas cards this year. With complete creative control, we designed a card that features a couple of piggybacking elves working with a snowman on a land survey. We also added a red gloved engineer inspecting a “season’s greetings” blueprint, and to finish it off, we added a snowy St. Louis skyline. In addition to design services, we also wrote the copy: “We hope all your plans and dreams are fulfilled this holiday season!”.
