I just noticed that Doyald Young passed away earlier this year.  Doyald was a master logotype designer and world class typographer.  I had the pleasure of meeting him at a St. Louis AIGA lecture a couple years ago.  He was kind, witty and had a special demeanor and presence that made you feel instantly comfortable.  Here is a great video showcasing him and some of his work.

I can not recall every being this sad when someone I’ve never met passed away. I am a designer, a techie, a music lover and a movie addict – all of which Steve made better in one way or another. Because of him, I have never owned a computer that didn’t have an apple on it. Thank you for making my job and life easier and more enjoyable. May you rest in peace.

I’ve wanted to go deep sea fishing for some time now and finally had the chance to go this month in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. I was lucky enough to catch four fish. Here is the largest one I caught, a Dorado, also called a Mahi Mahi or Dolphin. It weighed over 25 pounds. A special thanks to Ric Jones for taking me out!
