The Business Behind the Shutter Logo Design

Once again Salvatore Cincotta Photography has turned to Visual Lure for logo design and branding services. Sal has been speaking nationally about the business of photography with great success and is now venturing into photography education and consulting. Besides logo design services, we also assisted in naming. Our other favorite name was Photology, the art and science of the photography business, but the domain name was already taken (Sal wanted the domain name to match the company name). Be on the lookout for BehindTheShutter.com, and here is the new logo to hold you over ’til then:

They currently use a “Santa Maria” ship as an icon but wanted to update and modernize it, so here is what we came up with:

Salvatore Cincotta Photography came to us to design their new business cards. They wanted something different, high-end, something that would stand out from your average business card, so here is what we came up with. The cards will be letterpress printed on extra-heavy, uncoated, black paper with silver ink and a spot gloss varnish.

Goshen Education Consulting Logo & Identity Design
Posted by Justen Hong in Graphic Design/Print, Logo Design, Identity & Branding on March 13th, 2010
Here is the final logo design and identity package for Goshen Education Consulting. The logo mark is made out of overlapping books which form a star and a flower. The star represents guidance and enlightenment, and the flower represents growth.

Below are the other two logo design options we provided. In our discovery stage, the owner mentioned he had used the lighthouse as a symbol in the past and wanted to explore that option, so we came up with the logo on the left, which is a lighthouse combined with a Greek column. The column represents the educational industry, and the lighthouse represents the company and how it “guides” educational institutions to “enlightenment” through consulting. The logo design option on the right is simply a book with a bookmark, that when combined, forms the letter “G” for Goshen.
