Package Design for New USAF Academy Band CD

Visual Lure was recently contracted to design the packaging for a new USAF CD titled Sonata in Blue.  It will feature the Rampart Winds of the United States Air Force Academy Band.  The band provided the following direction: “We want to visually showcase the five individuals that make up the quintet.  Not necessarily with their pictures, but with some other representation.  The instruments used are flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and French horn.  We would like to the cover to be recognizable as an Air Force product in some fashion…”

With this guidance, we came up with the concept of five F16s (representing the quintet) flying in formation with music (notes and symbols) coming out of the jet’s contrails (exhaust).  Below is our initial proposed cover. Check back soon to see the finished product.

Custom Illustrated Christmas Card for St. Louis Area Engineering Firm

TWM, a St. Louis area engineering firm, recently contracted Visual Lure to create custom illustrated Christmas cards this year.  With complete creative control, we designed a card that features a couple of piggybacking elves working with a snowman on a land survey.  We also added a red gloved engineer inspecting a “season’s greetings” blueprint, and to finish it off, we added a snowy St. Louis skyline.  In addition to design services, we also wrote the copy: “We hope all your plans and dreams are fulfilled this holiday season!”.

Ad for an Omaha, Nebraska Wedding Photographer

Visual Lure was recently contracted to upgrade a logo and design a two page spread/ad for T. Free Photography, a very talented photographer based out of Omaha, Nebraska. The ad will be featured in Nebraska Wedding Day Magazine. We designed two initial ads that the client wasn’t feeling, but after receiving some direction and feedback, we hit the mark pretty close with our third design option.  We are still in the process of tweaking the ad, but below is a sneak peek at where we are.  Check back soon to see the final ad.

Check out their website here: www.tfreephotography.com.

Another Anheuser Busch Susan G. Komen Shirt Design

A Budweiser distributor from Michigan liked our 2010 Anheuser Busch Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure t-shirt design so much they wanted to adapt it for their Susan G. Komen Rally for the Cure Golf Outing.  After they received approval from Anheuser Busch to use the artwork, we removed the running people and replaced them with a foursome of golfers along with some trees in the background.  Here is the altered t-shirt design.  I hope they raise a bunch of money for a great cause.

Anheuser Busch’s 2011 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure T-shirt Design

We were honored to design the t-shirts for Anheuser Busch’s (Susan G. Komen) Race for the Cure team again this year. Below is the final design, and the design below that, could not be used due to Susan G. Komen’s logo standards/guidelines, but we thought we’d show it anyway.

It’s hard to believe it’s been a year already, and if you’ve kept up with our blog since then, you would know that my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer around the same time I designed last years shirts.  Since then, she has finished her chemo and radiation and is finally starting to feel “back to normal”.  I feel both lucky and blessed that she is OK, and it always means a little extra when I get to design these shirts.

Look out for our shirts June 11th in St. Louis at the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Pro Bono Invitation Design for the American Cancer Society

We recently donated some of our time to help out the American Cancer Society (Florida’s Southeast Hillsborough Unit) by designing the invitations for their upcoming Evening With The Stars Gala.  The Gala will have an “Old Hollywood” theme this year, so we decided to design the invitations to look like vintage movie tickets. We were glad to help, and we hope the event raises tons of money for such a great cause.

Anheuser-Busch’s Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure T-shirt Design

Visual Lure was recently contracted by Anheuser-Busch to design their t-shirts for the 2010 St. Louis Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. We were honored to design this years shirts for such a great company and such a great cause.

On a personal note, my mother was recently diagnosed with breast cancer just before Thanksgiving last year. They caught it early so she will be one of the lucky ones. She is currently going though chemo and is in good spirits with minimal side effects. We have been both lucky and blessed. Without the support of my mother, I don’t know what I’d be doing. She was the one who encouraged me to pursue art. As a child, my mother would always carry pencils, a box of crayons and paper in her purse for me. She provided me with enough blocks to build cities in the living room, and she always signed me up for art classes. So thanks to her, I am doing what I love for a living.  Thanks Mom!

Here are the two initial design options we provided AB. I will post the final design once it has been approved. Oh ya, and please support Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

and the winner is:

Anheuser-Busch liked both designs so much, we ended up using both of them, one on each side.  Be on the lookout for them Saturday, June 12, 2010 in St. Louis.

Woodlands Photography Custom Diecut Doggy Cards

With the rebrand of Woodlands Photography, they were wanting to target pet photography, so here is a business/promo card we designed.  They wanted it to stand out and be in the shape of a dog bone.

Well after we received print quotes, the custom diecut business cards took us over budget, so we had to alter the design. Here are the final cards photographed:
