Logo Redesign for a St. Louis based Railway Company
Posted by Justen Hong in Logo Design, Identity & Branding on June 30th, 2010
Our client wanted to change their logo from its full name, to its initials, due to confusion with another branch of their business. They wanted to keep the existing color pallet while maintaining some type of cohesion between the old logo and the new. So, we modernized the icon and added some strength to the logo that we thought was lacking. While we did like the old logo, it felt a little fragile for such a rugged industry. Here is the before and after:

Visual Lure was recently contracted by Anheuser-Busch to design their t-shirts for the 2010 St. Louis Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. We were honored to design this years shirts for such a great company and such a great cause.
On a personal note, my mother was recently diagnosed with breast cancer just before Thanksgiving last year. They caught it early so she will be one of the lucky ones. She is currently going though chemo and is in good spirits with minimal side effects. We have been both lucky and blessed. Without the support of my mother, I don’t know what I’d be doing. She was the one who encouraged me to pursue art. As a child, my mother would always carry pencils, a box of crayons and paper in her purse for me. She provided me with enough blocks to build cities in the living room, and she always signed me up for art classes. So thanks to her, I am doing what I love for a living. Thanks Mom!
Here are the two initial design options we provided AB. I will post the final design once it has been approved. Oh ya, and please support Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

The Madison County, Illinois’ Treasury Office has contracted Visual Lure to design and develop a new website. Their current site is simply pages on the main Madison County website, so we are helping them develop their own online presence. Our goal, and theirs, is to make the website user friendly and have information easy to find. We are in the design and layout stages right now, but here is a little sneak peek at our proposed home page design. We will have an update on the blog when the new website has gone live.

Here is a before and after, with our favorite proposed logo design option, for a St. Louis website developer’s client. They currently use a “Santa Maria” ship as an icon but wanted to update and modernize it, so here is what we came up with:

Goshen Education Consulting Logo & Identity Design
Posted by Justen Hong in Graphic Design/Print, Logo Design, Identity & Branding on March 13th, 2010
Here is the final logo design and identity package for Goshen Education Consulting. The logo mark is made out of overlapping books which form a star and a flower. The star represents guidance and enlightenment, and the flower represents growth.

Goshen Education Logo & Identity Design
Below are the other two logo design options we provided. In our discovery stage, the owner mentioned he had used the lighthouse as a symbol in the past and wanted to explore that option, so we came up with the logo on the left, which is a lighthouse combined with a Greek column. The column represents the educational industry, and the lighthouse represents the company and how it “guides” educational institutions to “enlightenment” through consulting. The logo design option on the right is simply a book with a bookmark, that when combined, forms the letter “G” for Goshen.
